Welcome to our Windmill Class page. Here we will share and celebrate all the wonderful learning and achievements of the children in Windmill Class.

Term 1:

We have been learning about the extreme weather in the Arctic and Antarctica.

We have been discovering the animals that live there and plotting them in their correct homes (using our map work).

Geography: Northern and Southern Hemisphere

Doubles and Near Doubles

We have been learning about doubles and near doubles through our maths. We used the Numicon to help us.

Literacy: Toys in Space

Through our 'Toys in Space' unit, we had a go at starting our character description with a question – to hook the reader in. As Hoctopize is a unique character, we had lots of adjectives to describe him with.

 

Here is a story map of our story to help us retell it. We are working towards a narrative retell where we will be writing the story ourselves.

Using our senses in Science

In science, we have been thinking about our 5 senses. In this lesson we had lots of fun identifying and describing the smells of different items.
